Former Rovers defender Stig Inge Bjørnebye has taken on a new role behind the scenes at Rangers.
Bjørnebye has been appointed as a football consultant and advisor on an initial six-month basis, according to our sister site Rangers Review.
The 56-year-old finished his playing career at Ewood Park, making more than 50 appearances for Rovers during a three-year stay in Lancashire.
He played in the 2002 Worthington Cup final at the Millennium Stadium as Graeme Souness’ side overcame Tottenham Hotspur to life the trophy.
The Norwegian only made one appearance the following season before he was forced to retire on medical advice.
He had previously spent eight years at Liverpool, playing more than 100 times for the Reds, and won 75 caps for Norway on the international stage.

After hanging up his boots and moving into coaching, Bjørnebye had a spell as Norway assistant manager before taking charge of IK Start.
The ex-defender has also worked as a sporting director at Rosenborg and more recently Danish side Aarhus.
Rangers currently sit third in the Scottish Premiership under Danny Rohl, who took charge in October following Russell Martin’s sacking.
The ex-Sheffield Wednesday boss has overseen an eight-game unbeaten run in the league since his arrival at Ibrox.
Rangers are now within nine points of leaders Hearts, who they face this weekend, and still have a game in hand to make up.
The club is yet to appoint a new CEO and sporting director following the departures of Patrick Stewart and Kevin Thelwell last month.
