Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.
Balazs Toth - 6
Pulled off a few important saves at 1-0 to keep Rovers in the game. Beaten by a powerful drive at the near post for the second, and had a few nervy moments with his feet in the first half.
Ryan Alebiosu - 6
Taken off at the break with an injury which he had treatment for in the first half. Got down the touchline a few times but didn't look entirely comfortable after the knock.
Lewis Miller - 5
Charlton seemed to get all their joy down the right side. He was pretty calm in the first half but struggled more in the second.
Scott Wharton - 6
Didn't do much wrong with most of the danger down the opposite flank.
Harry Pickering - 6
Fairly solid on his first league start since December 2024.
Taylor Gardner-Hickman - 5
Combative in the first half but struggled after moving to right-back in the second. All of Charlton's danger came down that side.
Sondre Tronstad - 5
Battled hard but lost the midfield duel against Doherty and Coventry who were better on the day.
Ryoya Morishita - 6
Looked bright at the start but never really got into the game after that. Rovers didn't feed him the ball often enough.
Todd Cantwell - 5
Lost the ball on too many occasions by holding onto the ball. Didn't get any change out of the referee when he was fouled on occasion.
Ryan Hedges - 6
Wasn't in the game at all second half after a couple of brighter bits of play in the first.
Yuki Ohashi - 6
Some good moments of hold-up play but not a lot of service into him on the deck which rendered him ineffective.
Substitutes:
Sidnei Tavares (45') - 5
Didn't impact the game in any sense after coming on. Wasn't overly bad or a net positive.
Augustus Kargbo (59') - 5
Didn't have much effect on proceedings. One very good cross was followed by an overhit one.
Andri Gudjohnsen (59') - 6
Didn't get much service but held it up.
Makhtar Gueye (72') - 6
Rovers went 2-0 down not long after he'd been introduced.
Unused substitutes: Pears, McLoughlin, Ribeiro, Montgomery, De Neve
