Blackburn Rovers have been left 'extremely disappointed' by the EFL's decision to replay their fixture against Ipswich Town in full.
The governing body announced its decision on Thursday afternoon, confirming the match would be replayed in its entirety. That despite Rovers being 1-0 ahead and having a man advantage.
The EFL acknowledged the 'incredibly difficult decision' that was made by their board. However, they also revealed that their three Championship Directors abstained from voting.
The EFL board consists of 10 directors, six of whom are divisional representatives elected by member clubs. They are Rick Parry (chair), Trevor Birch (chief exec), Peter Ridsdale (Preston North End), Neil Bausor (Middlesbrough), Zoe Webber (Norwich City), Liam Scully (Lincoln City), Julian Tagg (Exeter City), Charles Grant (Crewe Alexandra), Caroline Artis and Justine Roberts (non-executive directors).

That means the decision had the input of three club representatives, none of whom are in the Championship. Remarkably, Jacob Greaves' red card still stands despite the game, to all intents and purposes, not existing. Todd Cantwell's goal will not stand.
This decision opens up a huge can of worms, though that was inevitable whichever way the outcome fell. Rovers say they will explore all possible options, including a possible appeal.
The fixture will be rescheduled and now it's for the clubs to find a date in the diary. With upcoming midweek matches for the first time this season, there is fewer opportunities to squeeze it in.
Though both teams have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup, the earliest available midweek slot is W/C October 27. November is a no-go with the games already scheduled and the international break.
There are two possible options in December. W/C 1 or 15 are free weeks, though that is adding another game into what is already a jam-packed month of football.
Considering all options, late October seems the most logical date for the fixture to be replayed.
