Blackburn Rovers have confirmed that highly-rated youngster, Silver Eze, has signed a scholarship with the club.

The defender signed from Accrington Stanley in November last year. Eze represented Stanley's first-team in pre-season aged just 15 after spending three years with Rovers' nearby neighbours.

When signing, Rovers confirmed that he'd joined the Academy with the 'commitment to a scholarship registration'. However, after interest from club's overseas, there was concern they could lose him.

Those fears have been quashed after he signed a two-year scholarship with the club. Rovers can offer Eze a first professional contract in September when he turns 17.

The defender has made several appearances for both the Under-18s and Under-21s in his short time at Ewood Park.

“My short-term aim is to cement my place with the Under-18s, but over time I want to push on to the Under-21s and then ultimately become a regular with the first team," he said after signing.

"These things take time, but I’m confident in my own ability and that’s definitely a goal of mine.”

Rovers have also confirmed David Odogun has joined the club as a scholar from Wolves and will link up with our Under-18s for the coming campaign. The right-back had spent the last five years at Molineux.
