Legia Warsaw's new head coach, Edward Iordanescu, has reiterated his desire to keep Blackburn Rovers transfer target Steve Kapuadi.
The defender is one of several left-sided defenders being considered by Rovers as they step up their pursuit to bolster their ranks.
Danny Batth's exit has not altered Rovers' defensive plans, with Rudy Gestede and the recruitment team planning to sign one centre-back this summer. That will give Valerien Ismael four senior options in Dom Hyam, Hayden Carter, Scott Wharton and a new addition.
Kapuadi is one of Rovers' targets and was the subject of a bid last week, knocked back by the Polish club. They want to retain one of their best players but are hamstrung by the fact his contract only has 12 months to run.

The 27-year-old played almost 4,000 minutes last term, making 47 appearances in total. Unsurprisingly, it's a priority for new head coach Iordanescu to keep him.
"I would like him to extend his contract," he said in a first interview with TVPSSPORT.PL.
"We cannot afford to lose this player. When I came to the club, we did an analysis and I would like to have clarity on his matter soon.
"I know that we have to react to every potential loss. I care about stability, because every shock is not good for the team. Our fans have high expectations and deserve to watch top players."
Legia's Sporting Director, Michael Zewlakow has also stated his desire to retain the defender's services previously.
"I would like to keep him at the club for longer. It seems that he is such a well-coordinated player and an important element of the formation that Legia will benefit from him staying."
Kapuadi spoke publicly about his future last week and suggested that a move to Ewood Park might not be on the cards. Despite those comments, Rovers' interest is thought to remain.
"What is my transfer situation? I can't say anything special," he said.
"I'm in Legia and I try to enjoy every moment of my life. Blackburn? Maybe it's even a bit too late for that question. Honestly, I don't have much to comment on here.
"I have been playing in Warsaw for two seasons and I am happy with this time. I can confirm that I have received an offer of a new contract from Legia. Everything is possible. The subject is open."
