Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Balazs Toth - 8

Made a couple of really important saves, most impressively denying Peck's deflected shot. Commanded his area well.

Callum Brittain - 8

Did really well to pick out Ohashi who put Blackburn ahead. Positive as always down the right side.

Dom Hyam - 7

Handled Cannon really well alongside his centre-back partner. Was the closest man to Ahmedhodzic when he scored but not it was his man.

Danny Batth - 8

Won plenty of challenges and was dominant in the air. Another fantastic performance.

Yuri Ribeiro - 6

Made some great runs on the overlap but the final ball was lacking at times. Solid going the other way.

Lewis Travis - 7

Snapped into tackles and kept control for Rovers in the middle. Plenty of composure on a day when it really mattered.

Sondre Tronstad - 8

More than held his own against Souza and Peck. Kept the ball well and helped Rovers build attacks from deep.

Tyrhys Dolan - 7

Busy in the first half, producing some good deliveries from the right-hand side.

Todd Cantwell - 7

A couple of penalty appeals in the first half which didn't go his way, probably correctly. Kept Rovers playing without producing that moment of magic.

Ryan Hedges - 7

Did really well in the build-up for the goal, driving directly at goal before feeding Brittain. Went off with a worrying ankle injury.

Yuki Ohashi - 7

Took the finish well, which deflected past Davies. Didn't get much more of a sniff.

Substitutes:

Augustus Kargbo (Hedges, 70') - 5

Struggled to have an impact when he came on. Gave away a few frustrating fouls.

Makhtar Gueye (Dolan, 83') - 6

Won a few headers and rallied the crowd but the ball wouldn't drop for him in the box.

Emmanuel Dennis (Cantwell, 83') - 5

Held onto the ball for too long on occasions at crucial moments. Didn't hit the target with a free header.

Adam Forshaw (Travis, 88') - N/A

On for the final 10 minutes in a midfield reshuffle.

Cauley Woodrow (Tronstad, 88') - N/A

Likewise with Woodrow. A few nice touches but he didn't have long.

Unused substitutes: Pears, Carter, Sanderson, Pickering

Referee: Farai Hallam

Attendance: 30, 503
