Valerien Ismael insists Blackburn Rovers will attack final day to ensure they have 'no regrets' in their pursuit of a play-off place.

Five teams are competing for two positions on the last day of the season. Each team knows they must win ahead of kick-off, including Blackburn in their trip to Sheffield United.

That will be a difficult ask, with two other results also needed for them to finish sixth. However, prior to four successive wins, this prospect was not on the table.

Ismael insists Rovers will focus only on themselves but will ensure they do not get dragged into the pressure cooker of the play-off battle.

"Everyone needs results. This is the good thing," Ismael said.

"Coventry-Middlesbrough, the two teams need to win. Millwall needs to win. We need to win.

"It makes it great and it's why we love football, to be in that situation. The difference now, it's a real chance. We just to make sure we are doing our job and that will be tough enough.

"We will focus on ourselves. After the final whistle, we will see. It will be a normal week for us. Nothing changed. We will work properly as usual.

"We will prepare the game as usual. We will prepare ourselves first to make sure we are physically ready to compete. We will have a good week to work tactically.

"At the same time, to keep the joy, the positivity we put now around the training ground. Just to make sure we are ready to take our chance. At the end, as I said at the beginning, it's important to not have regrets.

"So far, we are doing well. It will be the same into the last game. First, we have good preparation in the week to make sure we put the effort into the week to give that feeling that we are ready.

"After that, we will see."

Four wins on the bounce has resurrected Rovers' season. At the start of the month, there were calls for the head coach to leave. Now they're fighting for the play-offs again.

"I never had that, I would say, down attitude. I knew this was the Championship," Ismael reflected.

"We were really clear what's going on in the squad. As I say, we got 10 injured players, seven key players. You see, they are almost all back now.

"You have another option. You see, Dennis is back. Kargbo is back and he straight away gives us another possibility. We were completely different. A real threat in the transition. This is what we've been missing for the last month.

"Now we can compete. Now we are on the same level. We can compete, it makes us much more dangerous. We have been training with consistency and playing with the same 11.

"Now we start to get some stability. You start to get the first result, the second result and now you create momentum.

"Sometimes you just need to stay calm. Ride the storm. We made it. Now it's exactly the same situation when I came in. I can't believe it."
