Sondre Tronstad has not held talks over extending his stay at Blackburn Rovers but would be happy to sign a new contract.
The Norwegian midfielder has one year left on his current deal at the end of the season. He is one of three important players in the same boat, as well as Lewis Travis and Callum Brittain.
Rudy Gestede told The Lancashire Telegraph that talks were progressing with some players. Since Yuri Ribeiro has signed but nothing else is imminent.
Tronstad is focused on finishing the season strongly but reiterated that he would be happy to renew his terms at Ewood Park.

"Yes, I'd really like to be here. I'd really like to play here in the future and years to come," Tronstad said.
"I like the players and fans, the club in general and the league. I would like to stay. I haven't had any talks about a new deal. I'm open for it, really.
"Like I said, I just want to focus on what I'm doing on the pitch right now and four massive games to make it right, to make sure we have the season well so that we can do the talks after that."
"Yes, it means a lot, really," he continued on his relationship with the fans.
"I think it was against Middlesbrough when I didn't start the game, when I went for a warm-up. The fans were great.
"It gives a lot of energy. I really appreciate the support from the fans. It means a lot. I think we have a good relationship."
Rovers' win at Luton Town brought an end to an eight-game wait for a win under Valerien Ismael. It's been another disappointing second half to the season with only five wins in 22 games.
Tronstad hopes that victory at Kenilworth Road can now be a springboard to build momentum for the remainder of 2024/25.
"Of course, you want to be on the other side. You want to win every single game, but you have to deal with it. You have to find a way out," he said.
"You have to perform better. We know ourselves, to be honest, our performance was not good enough to win those games. So firstly, everyone has to look at themselves and make sure everyone puts the work in to make sure we win games.
"To be honest, it's about winning games. That's all that matters. Of course, we need the support from the fans, like I said.
"When you lose five or six games on the bounce, everyone wants to make it right. Everyone hates to lose. We always want to be on the winning side.
"Sometimes football is hard and you need to find a way out of it. Maybe it's not the pretty way we did it against Luton but sometimes that's what you need. Like I said, to build on that is really important.
"I think it's always a tough game against Millwall. Like I said, we've had some good results lately. It's going to be a tough game like every game in the league.
"We just have to, like I said, build on what we did in the last two games. Take the positives and work from there."
