Blackburn Hawks are calling on the town to get behind them tomorrow as they take on Solihull Barons in the NIHL play-off semi-final -completely free of charge.
After an outstanding season that saw them finish second in the league, the Hawks want to pack out Planet Ice Blackburn and create an electric atmosphere for their biggest game of the year.
With a huge crowd expected, fans are urged to arrive early to soak up the pre-game buzz and secure their seats. Season ticket holders and reserved seating still apply, but this is a chance for the wider community to experience the excitement of play-off hockey at no cost.
Having already battled Solihull twice this season in tightly fought encounters, the Hawks know they’re in for a tough test. But with home advantage and a passionate crowd behind them, they’re ready to rise to the occasion.
Scott Jenkinson, co-owner and General Manager of the Hawks, is urging the entire town to come together and back their team.
He said: "We want to make Blackburn a hockey town, a place where people take pride in their team.
"This is about more than just one game, it’s about growing the sport, bringing the community together, and showing what this club means to the town.
"We’re inviting everyone to come along, bring their family and friends, and experience the intensity of play-off hockey.”
On Sunday, the Hawks travel to Solihull for the away leg, and fans are encouraged to make the journey to help turn the Barons’ home rink into a sea of Hawks support.
