Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.
Aynsley Pears - 7
Helpless for the goal as Al-Hamadi tapped in from close range. Didn't have any major saves to make until stoppage time where he did really well to keep out Bae.
Callum Brittain - 5
Wanted more from him in an attacking sense down the right with his quality in the final third.
Dion Sanderson - 5
Switched to the right of the back three and had to go off with a knock.
Dom Hyam - 4
Loose pass gave Stoke the ball for the goal. Then dropped too deep and played Al-Hamadi onside. A really soft one to give away.
Hayden Carter - 6
Tried to add some attacking impetus in the second half on the overlap.
Yuri Ribeiro - 5
Is not a wing-back. Looms more comfortable playing left-back in a four, where there is less emphasis on attacking.
Lewis Travis - 4
Running theme of the last two games has been the captain getting involved with other players out of frustration. Always tries but is at his best with a cool head.
Adam Forshaw - 5
Showed for the ball a lot more in the second half before being replaced. Did alright in the middle without sparkling.
Tyrhys Dolan - 5
Buzzed around and tried to make something happen but to little avail. Set the ball back for Cantwell in the first half.
Todd Cantwell - 5
Could have scored but was denied by a brilliant save from Johansson. Just hasn't affected the play in the final third enough for too long now.
Makhtar Gueye - 5
Cut a very frustrated figure the longer the match went on. Felt a risk of being sent off from the first half and was booked.
Substitutes:
Sondre Tronstad (Forshaw, 64') - 6
Still finding his feet as he gets back up to match speed.
Emmanuel Dennis (Cantwell, 64') - 5
Didn't see a lot of the ball. It was a big risk investing a lot of budget in a player who needs time to get back to his best.
Yuki Ohashi (Dolan, 64') - 6
Pressed and harrassed but didn't make much impact.
Joe Rankin-Costello (Sanderson, 78') - 6
Came closest to scoring with a good effort saved by Johansson in stoppage time.
Cauley Woodrow (Travis, 90') - N/A
On for the eight minutes of added time.
Unused substitutes: Toth, Powell, Buckley, Cozier-Duberry.
Referee: Farai Hallam
Attendance: 20,194
