John Eustace again stressed the importance of recruitment for Blackburn Rovers after admitting the group would benefit from 'a lift'.
The Rovers head coach wants two to three quality additions this month to try and bolster their squad. A striker, wide forward and defensive cover on the left are the priorities for the recruitment team.
At the time of writing, no deals are imminent but there are irons in the fire, including interest in Jeffrey Schlupp.
Rovers now have a small gap from Championship football, with their next league game not until the 15th against Portsmouth.

After a gruelling festive period, Eustace conceded that the squad needs 'help' and fresh blood to re-energise their top-six push after a spate of injuries.
"It's very important, the group need that lift and for the quality to come in and help," he said.
"When you come up against a team like Burnley, they have quality in their squad and coming off the bench.
"They have just recruited another top striker in Ashley Barnes who has been promoted out of this league. It's about your squad and they have experience and quality which is why they're near the top.
"These teams up there are very serious about wanting to get promoted, as we are. The boys have put in a huge effort to get where we are against the odds. Favourites for relegation. Now, we want improvement in the squad to help us kick on.
"We have 21 games to go, nine, ten huge home games. If we get those fans behind us, then why not? Let's enjoy the ride of where we have got to now.
"the last four results have been disappointing but playing three of the top teams. We have gone toe-to-toe with them. We had a disappointing result against Hull but we didn't deserve to lose the game. We missed golden chances.
"We are doing the right things but we have to keep positive and we think we can be a top side in this league. But we need help. Hopefully, we can get that to stay in the push of where we want to be."
Rovers had their highest attendance for six years against Burnley. For Eustace, that was a further example of the exciting potential at the football club.
"I thought it was outstanding to have 22,000 Blackburn fans in the ground today. They can see the team is very committed which is brilliant," he continued.
"We have nine or ten home games now until the end of the season. The more fans we get through the turnstiles, the better for this group.
"If we can keep getting 22,000 home fans in at Ewood, it would be a massive help for the group going forward. It shows how exciting this club can be. If they can keep supporting us and backing us between now and the end of the season, I hope we can get more wins and push up the league.
"We have a fan base, we have the history. The players have been outstanding in the first half of the season. We have been stretched and if we can add two or three players and get our other players back fit, it gives us a real fighting chance to keep our push to get into the top-six alive.
"You can see we are a work in progress. We were fighting, scrapping for every ball. The fans can see we're doing the right things. The effort has been there for everyone to see so now we need to recruit and get some help to help us push on.
"We'll have to see what we can do (before Middlesbrough). The recruitment team are working hard on getting players in, so I hope so."
