Blackburn Rovers have officially confirmed the departure of Head of Recruitment, John Park, by mutual consent.

The experienced transfer expert re-joined Rovers in June after two years away from Ewood Park. However, his tenure has only lasted five months.

Rovers will look to replace Park to work alongside Rudy Gestede, Head of Football Operations. Gus Williams and Sean Kimberley both held the role before Park in the last two years and also left before a year in the role.

A club statement from Blackburn Rovers said: "Blackburn Rovers can confirm that John Park has left his role as Head of Recruitment by mutual agreement with the club.

"Rovers would like to thank John for his dedicated service across two spells with the club, having first joined in July 2021, before returning to Rovers this summer.

"The club will now begin the recruitment process to bring in his replacement, who will work closely alongside Rovers’ senior leadership team at the STC and the Academy."
