Blackburn Rovers are competing for a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals against Newcastle United on Tuesday night.

Rovers welcome Eddie Howe's side to Ewood Park in what is bound to be their toughest assignment of the season.

Whilst preserving their Championship status remains the priority, the cup competitions have proven to be a welcome distraction in recent years under Jon Dahl Tomasson. Cambridge United and Wrexham AFC were put to the sword to set up this tie with the Premier League Magpies.

Rovers beat West Ham United and Leicester City in the two domestic cups last year and John Eustace will be hoping to inspire another famous scalp.

If they manage it, Rovers will reach the quarter-final stage for the second successive year, the first time they have managed that since 1929.

Should they do so, they will quickly discover the team that stands between them and a first trip to the new Wembley. Here are all the details you need, should Rovers cause an upset.

When is the FA Cup quarter-final draw?

The draw is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, February 28. It will be held at 7:45pm ahead of the match between Liverpool and Southampton, which kicks off at 8pm.

Ball numbers are yet to be confirmed.

How can I watch the FA Cup draw?

You can follow the draw for the last eight live on ITV1. You can stream it via ITVX or from the FA's social pages too. We'll also have a live blog covering the action on The Lancashire Telegraph.

When will the FA Cup quarter-finals be played?

The quarter-final ties are set to be played on the weekend of Saturday, March 16. Rovers are currently set to face Middlesbrough away in the final match before the international break.

What prize money is on offer?

Should Rovers beat Newcastle, they'll net a cool £225,000. Of course, they are live on BBC1 too so will get a nice payday from that as well, regardless of the result.

If they were to reach the last eight, there would be an additional £450,000 on offer for the winner, as well as a place at Wembley.
