Blackburn Rovers will be without new signing Duncan McGuire against Queens Park Rangers with the club awaiting international clearance and visa requirements being approved.

The forward signed for Rovers on transfer deadline day in a loan-to-buy deal which capped off a remarkable saga. The 22-year-old's deal was cancelled before being resurrected in the final hours of the January window.

As an overseas addition, Rovers require extra documentation for him to play in the Championship. The cut-off point for that was 12pm on Friday and so his debut will have to wait another seven days.

Connor O'Riordan, Kyle McFadzean, John Fleck and Billy Koumetio are all eligible to make their first appearances for the club, though. O'Riordan signed last week but was cup-tied and so couldn't feature against Wrexham in the FA Cup.

McFadzean admitted he still needs to build his fitness so it's unlikely he'll be thrown straight in against QPR. The defender isn't injured but hasn't played competitively since November after falling out of the Coventry City side.

Fleck joined from Sheffield United in a late deal but has been involved with his team-mates today, as has Koumetio.

On the injury front, Callum Brittain, Hayden Carter and Harry Pickering are all out. Ryan Hedges is working his way back from a long-term hamstring injury and was expected to train this week.

John Buckley could play for the Under-21s on Monday against Sheffield United as he recovers from shoulder surgery.
