Stanley have signed goalkeeper Radek Vitek on loan from Manchester United for the remainder of the campaign.

The 20-year-old arrived at Old Trafford in 2020 after impressing at Sigma Olomouc in Czech Republic, his home country.

Vitek was part of the squad that won the FA Youth Cup in 2022 alongside the likes of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. He has also been named on the bench at first team level by Erik ten Hag.

The shot stopper told the club website: "I want to start as soon as possible and I think the move to Accrington will suit me, and I hope to get as many games as possible.

"That's the main thing, I want to start playing regularly and get some important matches under my belt."

Jon McCracken and Joe Walsh both played for the Reds on emergency loans from Norwich and Queens Park Rangers respectively during the first half of the season.

John Coleman added: "Radek is someone who we monitored in the summer, he actually played for us in a friendly, but it just wasn't possible to bring him in in the summer.

"He's a good goalkeeper, he's decent with his feet, he can command his area, and ultimately, goalkeepers are judged on keeping the ball out of the net, so hopefully he'll do that for us."
