Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Huddersfield Town in the Championship.

Goalkeeper

Tomasson confirmed that Aynsley Pears will start for the first time since October 1 after returning from injury. The goalkeeper has played twice for the Under-21s and took part in a behind-closed-doors match in midweek.

Leopold Wahlstedt has been in the firing line recently and with Pears fit again, a change makes sense.

Defence

Harry Pickering will return to the defence after missing out last weekend with illness. He'll come in at left-back.

Joe Rankin-Costello played half an hour at The Hawthorns and got another 45 minutes in the week. It could be a risk to start him but Tomasson might fancy giving him an hour.

That leaves the head coach with a decision to make at centre-back with Hayden Carter, Dom Hyam and Scott Wharton available. I think he'll go for his first-choice pairing, albeit that's probably a little harsh on Wharton.

Midfield

Sondre Tronstad and Adam Wharton are likely to keep their places despite Jake Garrett playing well at West Brom. Tomasson likes that pairing and in what feels like a must-win match, he could go for what he might perceive as his strongest team.

Sam Szmodics will be back in the team after illness. He was a big miss last weekend with his runs in-behind.

Attack

Tomasson has the same dilemma with Sam Gallagher as Rankin-Costello. Could he play from the start for an hour? I think he might do.

On the right, it's a toss-up between Callum Brittain and Andrew Moran. Neither have been in the best of form so you can take your pick. Arnor Sigurdsson will be on the left.

Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Pears; Rankin-Costello, Carter, Hyam, Pickering; Tronstad, Wharton, Szmodics; Brittain, Sigurdsson, Gallagher.
