Blackburn transfer latest as club wait for dominoes to fall

So far, Yasin Ayari and Ben Chrisene have signed on loan deals whilst James Hill was recalled by Bournemouth and Lewis Travis sent to Ipswich Town.

After a busy start to the window, things have been a little quieter in the last two weeks, though The Lancashire Telegraph understands the club are still working to get new players into the club.

As is usually the case in the January transfer window, there are dominos that need to fall for Rovers to acquire their preferred targets. Whilst finances remain a big consideration, the club are able to move ahead with potential deals.

Jon Dahl Tomasson wants experience in the building and so far, that hasn't been forthcoming. The head coach wants to sign at least one, ideally two, centre-backs this month.

Attacking players are also being sought after, with a wide player and a number nine on the list, depending on potential outgoings. Charlie Cresswell and Connor O'Riordan are two players that are of interest to the club.

Rovers have rejected multiple offers from Ipswich Town for Sam Gallagher. The Tractor Boys have not hit the club's valuation of the striker, who has six months left on his contract. Rovers have the option to extend that deal by a further year but he is their highest earner.

Ipswich have Financial Fair Play to consider and it's unclear whether they can match Rovers' demands or whether they'll look elsewhere. They are in talks with Sheffield Wednesday over left-wing-back Marvin Johnson in what would be a seven-figure move.

Like Rovers, Ipswich have also enquired about Kieffer Moore, along with most of the Championship. The striker is on hefty wages at Bournemouth and so Blackburn are likely to be gazumped by a better loan offer, if it even gets to that stage.

Similarly, Niall Ennis could move on loan with Bolton Wanderers at the front of a queue to sign him. That deal is not thought to be imminent but remains a strong possibility.
