Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Leopold Walhstedt - 4

Didn't cover himself in glory again for the first goal. You can't let the ball bounce in the six-yard box as a goalkeeper. Wouldn't be a surprise if Pears started next weekend.

Hayden Carter - 3

Shifted out to right-back but it didn't do Rovers much good. Too easily pinned by Thomas-Asante and didn't do enough to stop the aerial problems.

Dom Hyam - 3

Hasn't looked the same player since coming back. Takes his share of the blame for the first and then a loose header for the second. Own goal for the third and loses Thomas-Asante for the fourth. A terrible afternoon.

Scott Wharton - 4

Came back into the team but couldn't change the trend of balls into the box causing carnage.

Callum Brittain - 4

Wasn't tight enough to Thomas-Asante as he fired into the corner. Offered little going forward.

Sondre Tronstad - 4

Didn't do enough to protect the defence. Rovers were bullied across the pitch and as one of the more experienced players, you want to see him try to grab the game by the scruff of the neck.

Adam Wharton - 6

At least tried to make things happen on the ball but wasn't given much support.

Jake Garrett - 7

One of the few players who showed some grit and determination after the break. Scored a lovely goal.

Andrew Moran - 5

Quiet and ineffective, as he has been for most of the last month.

Arnor Sigurdsson - 4

Offers so little defensively in terms of tracking runners. Didn't create anything in the final third.

Harry Leonard - 4

Really struggled against the experience of Bartley and Kipre. Missed a really good chance to make it 3-1.

Substitutes:

Joe Rankin-Costello (S.Wharton, 61') - 5

Looked a bit rusty in his defending after so long out, which is perfectly understandable. Can't judge him too harshly on half an hour.

Sam Gallagher (Leonard, 61') - 6

Game was gone moments after he came on. Didn't get a sight of goal.

Unused substitutes: Pears, Gamble, Christene, Ayari, Markanday, Telalovic.
