Jon Dahl Tomasson has insisted he is happy at Blackburn Rovers despite frustrations at the club's transfer activity.

The head coach urged Rovers to bolster his squad in the January transfer window and has continually spoken about the lack of depth and experience available to him.

The team is currently on its worst run since he joined 18 months ago, losing six of their last eight Championship matches, winning once. Rovers have been terrible defensively, conceding 48 times in total.

Tomasson's public comments about the transfer strategy has painted an impression with supporters that he's unhappy at the club. The Dane has 18 months left to run on his contract and there have been no talks about a new deal yet.

However, the Rovers chief insisted he is happy at Ewood Park despite the frustrations he may have. He insisted that dealing with setbacks is part of management and is happy working with the players he has available.

"I like all the players, I love working with them every day," he said. "I think everyone understands the situation when you cut the budget by 15 or 20 per cent. It's normal, isn't it?

"Nobody is stupid, it's part of life. I like my players, I like the fans, I like the way we work together, players want to get better. You see a game today where we create so many chances.

"This young group has done really well. We are giving goals away which is extremely disappointing and we have to do better. That will come in time.

"I am very ambitious, my players are ambitious too. The fans are ambitious, we have great history, we have great experience together with the players throughout the years.

"At the end of the day, if the budget is cut, like our CEO has said, it will have an impact on the group. It has had, that's normal.

"We lost proven goal-scorers, we lost experience. The amount of players is less. On the other hand, it's important that the club can stay alive after a difficult period. It's not something I can do, I am training the group."

After another poor result at Rotherham United, fans have asked the head coach to take more responsibility for the run of form. He insisted the group always take collective accountability when things are not going the way they want them to.

"I think everyone needs to take responsibility, I always take responsibility when we lose," he insisted.

"We lose and we win together, we are one group in our way of thinking. The same spirit and the same togetherness."
