Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Leopold Walhstedt - 4

Should've done far better for the opener. Allowed Delap to squeeze it in at the near post too easily. Third game running he has made a costly error.

Callum Brittain - 5

Tested Ingram with a good effort in the first half. His final ball was lacking when he got forward.

James Hill - 4

Passing was wayward all night. Should have done so much better with the long ball that caused chaos for the second.

Dom Hyam - 3

Possibly his worst night in a Rovers shirt. Didn't cover himself in glory for the first or the second. A yard off it all night, probably a game too far after just coming back from injury. Sent off for two bookings.

Harry Pickering - 7

One of Rovers' best performer. Scored the equaliser via a fortunate deflection but he used the ball very well to try and get them back into the match.

Sondre Tronstad - 5

Gave the ball away cheaply again in midfield, albeit an improvement on Huddersfield.

Jake Garrett - 5

Gave the ball away too cheaply and looked like a red waiting to happen once he was booked. Was harshly left out on Boxing Day but didn't follow it up with a great display.

Sam Szmodics - 6

Took his goal very well, lobbing it over Ingram for his 15th of the season. Otherwise quite quiet.

Dilan Markanday - 5

Some nice touches and some infuriating ones too. There is a player in there but he is too inconsistent.

Arnor Sigurdsson - 5

Pretty quiet throughout and didn't offer Pickering a great deal of protection.

Semir Telalovic - 7

Led the line well on his first Championship start. Hit the post with a deflected shot and had another sight at goal but he couldn't sort his feet out.

Substitutes:

Adam Wharton (Garrett, 66') - 6

Had one shot on goal as Rovers pushed for an equaliser.

Andrew Moran (Markanday, 66')

Task made harder when Rovers went down to ten eight minutes after he came on.

Nial Ennis (Telalovic, 66')

No real sight of goal after coming on with Rovers chasing the game.

Hayden Carter (Sigurdsson, 76') - 6

On after Hyam's red card.

Unused substitutes: Hilton, Gamble, Travis, Gilsenan, Leonard.
