James Hill is fit for Blackburn Rovers to face Bristol City after limping off against Leeds United.

Jon Dahl Tomasson has no fresh injuries to worry about after the defeat at Ewood Park. Lewis Travis will come back into the squad after missing out at the weekend with illness.

The Blackburn Rovers head coach has been unable to rotate his squad as much as he'd like but hinted there could be a few changes against Bristol City on Tuesday night after a short turnaround.

"I have some big news, there are no new injuries," Tomasson said. "That is nice and extremely positive.

"We have played a lot of games and we would have liked to rotate a little more because players are tired and some of them aren't used to playing two, three games in a week.

"We had Niall back the other day, Arnor Sigurdsson too. Trav was suspended then ill, he lost a couple of kilos but he can help the team tomorrow.

"Sometimes, we've had players with pain and small things but those that have played have done a good job for Rovers. They're working very hard, playing good football.

"When I played, I would've been unhappy to be rotated but comparing my speed to today, it was more walking than playing with such high intense runs.

"The game is extremely quick and especially in the Premier League and the Championship, it's so intense."

He added: "The way we played against Leeds, a Premier League side, they should be confident. We see it's a Premier League side and James with a clinical finish for the first goal they scored.

"It was that clinical edge, he has more than 100 appearances in the Premier League. That's the difference and it's great to see we can compete and if we can score at the right moments, you can win those games.

"That was the case against Leicester, a team on loan in this competition, if you can say that."
