Here's how The Lancashire Telegraph scored the players' performances, with a six representing par for the course.

Leopold Walhstedt - 7

Pulled off a great save to deny Gnonto just before Leeds got their second. Handling and distribution was solid.

James Hill - 6

The first time he has looked like a centre-back asked to do a job at right-back when going forward. Defended Summerville well in the main.

Hayden Carter - 7

Caught playing out of the back by Rutter, who should've scored. Made some important interceptions.

Scott Wharton - 7

Started the game really well. Handled the physicality of Rutter and distribution was solid.

Harry Pickering - 7

A few short passes down the line. Not much space in the midfield to come inside and influence proceedings.

Sondre Tronstad - 8

Rovers' best player on the day. Covered every inch of grass, won tackles, made blocks and interceptions. Great performance.

Adam Wharton - 7

Close to an eight but faded a little in the second half. Quality on the ball in the first half was evident.

Sam Szmodics - 7

Worked hard but didn't get a sight of goal. Played the second half down the middle so was often the runner rather than the creator.

Andrew Moran - 7

Tried to make things happen and wasn't afraid to come deep to receive the ball. End product was lacking.

Callum Brittain - 5

Another ineffective afternoon in a more advanced role. Started on the left wing again, which doesn't suit him, but still wasn't in the game after the break.

Harry Leonard - 5

A learning curve for the young striker who struggled against two senior centre-backs. Usually holds the ball so well but couldn't get himself into the game. Taken off at half-time.

Substitutes:

Arnor Sigurdsson (Leonard, 45') - 7

Added a bit more spark in the final third after coming on. Could've scored with a header at 2-0.

Niall Ennis (Hill, 80') - N/A

On for the last 10 with Rovers up against it.

Jake Garrett (A.Wharton, 80') - N/A

On to provide fresh legs in midfield. Went down in the box but the referee waved away the appeals.

Dilan Markanday (Moran, 84') - N/A

Late change on the wing.

Unused substitutes: Hilton, Gamble, Atcheson, Bloxham, Telalovic
