Vitinho is relishing the journey ahead after putting pen to paper over a new four-year deal at Turf Moor.

The Brazilian follows Josh Cullen, Anass Zaroury and Manuel Benson in signing new contracts with the Clarets.

Vitinho arrived in East Lancashire last summer from Belgian side Cercle Brugge and went on to make 41 appearances in all competitions as Vincent Kompany’s side clinched the Championship title.

The 24-year-old has made three appearances, starting against Manchester City on the opening day of the Premier League campaign.

He told the club website: “I’m really pleased to extend my contract here. I have enjoyed every minute of being at Burnley and can’t wait to see what the future holds.

“The fans have been amazing to me and made me feel welcome ever since I joined. I look forward to making more special memories with them.”

The Clarets are back in league action this afternoon when they take on Newcastle at St James Park.

Newcastle currently sit eighth in the table and enter the game on the back of a 1-0 win against Manchester City in the Carabao Cup third round.
