Blackburn Rovers want to bounce back from their midweek disappointment when they travel to Ipswich Town.

Jon Dahl Tomasson's side were beaten 3-1 by Sunderland in midweek, a game they will feel frustrated at. Despite creating mountains of chances, a lack of clinical edge in front of goal proved costly.

There is no time to dwell, though, with Rovers back in action for a third time in seven days. It's a long trek to Ipswich Town to face in-form opposition.

Kieran McKenna's side have won six of their seven Championship games this season. That record stretches to 18 from their last 21 league games, including their League One promotion run.

Tomasson will have to consider whether to freshen up his squad or stick with the same squad at Portman Road.

Here's The Lancashire Telegraph's best guess on how Rovers might line-up against Ipswich this weekend.

Goalkeeper

Aynsley Pears will be between the sticks once again. Leopold Wahlstedt should get another chance to impress against Cardiff in midweek.

Defence

Although Rovers leaked three goals on Wednesday, they were all avoidable goals. There isn't much wrong with their overall defending.

The first was a penalty, which was slightly unfortunate, the second a second-phase set-piece and the third an individual error. That happens in football.

The only reason to change things up would be if personnel need a rest. Callum Brittain has been excellent at right-back but hasn't played three games in seven days for a while now.

Hayden Carter and Dom Hyam are a strong partnership and it's not one that I would break up. Similarly, the defensive solidity of Harry Pickering could be important away at a tough venue.

Midfield

It's hard to envisage too many alterations in midfield either unless Tomasson feels players need a rest. Lewis Travis was excellent for an hour against Sunderland before coming off. He was on a booking and had been a doubt pre-match.

Adam Wharton has played a lot of football in quick succession so if he's not 100 per cent, perhaps he could be rotated. Jake Garrett and Joe Rankin-Costello are the most likely to be recalled if Tomasson takes that view. Sam Szmodics should keep his place as Rovers' leading marksman in attack.

Attack

Rovers' attack was very bright against Sunderland, albeit they couldn't finish their chances. Andrew Moran certainly justified his selection and I expect him to keep his place.

Dilan Markanday was lively off the bench and is applying pressure to start ahead of Ryan Hedges on the right. He could come in with Tomasson looking to keep things fresh.

Harry Leonard's goal in midweek should see him stay down the middle too. Semir Telalovic is providing competition but he's still getting up to speed with Tomasson's style of play.

Blackburn Rovers (4-3-3): Pears; Brittain, Carter, Hyam, Pickering; Wharton, Travis, Szmodics; Markanday, Moran, Leonard.
