Leicester City’s visit to Ewood Park next month has been handed a new date after being selected for live television coverage.

The fixture was initially scheduled to be played on Saturday, September 30 but will now take place on Friday, September 29 (8pm).

It will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Football (channel 403 for viewers in the UK) and ticket details will be released in due course.

Enzo Maresca took charge at the King Power Stadium over the summer after leaving his role as assistant coach at Manchester City.

The Foxes have won all three of their opening games so far this season, including a narrow 1-0 victory at Huddersfield in their last outing thanks to Stephy Mavidi’s second-half strike.

Rovers knocked Leicester out of the FA Cup in March following a memorable 2-1 win, with Tyrhys Dolan and Sam Szmodics both getting on the scoresheet that night.
