Rovers goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski is on the verge of completing his move to Premier League Luton Town.

The Lancashire Telegraph understands that Kaminski has completed a medical with the Hatters as they prepare for life in the top flight.

Rob Edwards’ side secured promotion last season after beating Coventry on penalties in the play-off final at Wembley.

Luton have been linked with Kaminski throughout the summer and previously had bids turned down for the Belgian shot stopper.

The 30-year-old has been a consistent performer across his 118 appearances since joining from KAA Gent in the summer of 2020 for a fee around £450,000.

That has ensured the Belgian has been around the national squad ever since his move to Ewood Park.

However, he found himself out of the side during the final stages of last season as Jon Dahl Tomasson stuck with Aynsley Pears following the March international break.

Pears initially came into the side while Kaminski was sidelined by a knee injury, which kept him out of action for a couple of months.

The 25-year-old was then rewarded for his displays with a new four-year deal, which raised questions about Kaminski’s long-term future.

Rovers have also made progress in their attempts to sign Leopold Wahlstedt from Norwegian club Odds BK.

The 24-year-old has impressed during the ongoing season in Norway, keeping eight clean sheets in 17 matches.

Wahlstedt has also attracted interest from Brondby IF but a move to the Danish outfit reportedly fell through at a late stage.

Meanwhile, Ash Phillips’ move to Tottenham Hotspur is set to be finalised in the coming days.

Spurs are long-term admirers of the highly-rated youngster, who has been capped by England at Under-17 and Under-19 levels.

Phillips has enjoyed a remarkable rise over the past 18 months, initially making his Under-21 debut as a 16-year-old and then stepping up to the first team picture within a year.

The 6’4 defender played 14 times in all competitions last season, including eight league appearances.

He signed his first professional contract at Rovers last September, although FIFA rules dictate that any player under the age of 18 can only sign a deal up to three years.
