Burnley have announced the signing of Jacob Bruun Larsen on a season-long loan from TSG Hoffenheim.

The 24-year-old winger came through the ranks at Borussia Dortmund and went on to make 41 appearances for the German outfit.

Larsen joined Hoffenheim in January 2020 and also played under Vincent Kompany during a loan spell at Anderlecht during the 2020/21 campaign.

The Danish international has won six caps at senior level and also represented his country at the 2016 Rio Olympics.

“I’m really happy and excited to be here. I wanted to come to Burnley, the whole project really inspired me and as soon as I heard of the possibility, I knew it was what I wanted to do,” he told the club website.

“It’s a dream for me to be here and get the opportunity to play in the Premier League. I hope we can do great things this season and I’m really looking forward to it now.”

Larsen becomes Burnley’s ninth signing of the summer window as the club prepares for its return to the Premier League.

Zeki Amdouni, James Trafford, Nathan Redmond and Luca Koleosho have also arrived in East Lancashire over the past week, while Andros Townsend has featured as a trialist in pre-season.

Kompany’s men kick off the new campaign at Turf Moor against treble winners Manchester City on Friday, August 11.

The Clarets also have friendlies against Spanish outfit Real Betis and German club Mainz coming up before the new campaign gets under way.

Burnley recorded a 2-0 victory against Portuguese champions Benfica last time out thanks to goals from Owen Dodgson and Hjalmar Ekdal.
