Burnley are reportedly “closing in” on the signing of Swiss international Zeki Amdouni from Basel.

The 22-year-old forward scored 22 goals in 52 appearances last season and was on target against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League semi-final.

Amdouni has represented Switzerland at senior level and also featured in the European Under-21 Championship this summer, scoring twice in four games.

Burnley hope to conclude a deal for the youngster in the next few days, according to a report by Foot Mercato.

Vincent Kompany’s men are preparing for life back in the Premier League after clinching the Championship title last term.

The Clarets have already completed permanent deals for Jordan Beyer and Michael Obafemi, as well as signing Dara O’Shea and Lawrence Vigouroux from West Brom and Leyton Orient respectively.

They are aiming to bolster their attacking options following the departure of long-serving Ashley Barnes, who joined Norwich on a two-year deal earlier this summer.

Dutch international Wout Weghorst has also returned to pre-season training following a loan spell at Manchester United.

Former Southampton winger Nathan Redmond is another player who has been linked with a move to Turf Moor this summer.

29-year-old Redmond is currently a free agent after his deal at Turkish club Besiktas expired.

The wideman has plenty of Premier League experience, having made 232 appearances during a six-year spell with the Saints.

He managed five goals and five assists in 26 games in Turkey last term, enjoying a strong finish to the campaign.

Meanwhile, Burnley have announced they will face Portuguese club Lisbon in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday, July 25.

Kompany’s side also have matches against Genk and Real Betis coming up in preparation for the new Premier League season, which kicks-off against treble winners Manchester City on Friday, August 11.
