Burnley are reportedly in “advanced talks” with West Brom and Republic of Ireland defender Dara O’Shea.

The 24-year-old made 37 appearances for the Baggies last season and captained the side in Jake Livermore’s absence.

He represented his country during the European Championship qualifiers against Greece and Gibraltar over the past week.

O’Shea could undergo a medical at Turf Moor as early as tomorrow (Thursday), according to Sky Sports.

Jordan Beyer, who was a key member of Vincent Kompany’s squad last term, has already completed a permanent move from Borussia Monchengladbach.

Ameen Al-Dakhil and Hjalmar Ekdal also showed promising signs after joining the Clarets in the January transfer window.

England Under-21 captain Taylor Harwood-Bellis went from strength to strength at Turf Moor last season but has now returned to parent club Manchester City.

Meanwhile, Luke McNally impressed during a loan spell at Coventry during the second half of the campaign as Mark Robins’ side came up just short against Luton in the play-off final at Wembley.

Borussia Dortmund youngster Soumaila Coulibaly has also been linked with a loan move to East Lancashire.

Coulibaly was regularly involved for the reserve team last term and also made a couple of appearances in the Champions League and Bundesliga.

He is under a long-term contract at Dortmund but could head out on loan this summer as he continues his development.

Kompany’s side are preparing for life back in the top flight after clinching the Championship title last term, passing the 100-point milestone on the final day.

The Clarets kick off their Premier League season with a home fixture against champions Manchester City in front of the TV cameras on Friday, August 11 (8pm).
