Rovers have completed the signing of youngster Tom Bloxham following his exit from Tottenham.

The 18-year-old attacking midfielder has put pen to paper over a two-year professional contract at Ewood Park.

Spurs allowed Bloxham to spend time on trial during the 2022/23 campaign, playing once for Rovers Under-18s at the end of 2022 and then twice for the Under-21s at the turn of the year.

He started in the Under-21 games against Brighton and Fulham in February, both away from home, and was on the bench for the Premier League 2 fixture against Leicester.

Bloxham - who has represented Republic of Ireland and England at youth level - played 29 times for Tottenham’s Under-18s, scoring six goals. He also turned out twice for the Under-21s.

“I’m really excited and really looking forward to what’s to come,” said the youngster.

“It was an easy decision when you look at the clear pathway for young players to move between the age groups, and hopefully I’ll get an opportunity to play at this amazing stadium and show the fans what I’m all about.

“The facilities and the people around the Academy here are top class, so I want to repay the trust and belief they have shown in me - as a player and as a person - with good performances and with goals and assists.

“I’m a creative dribbler with the ball. I like to make things happen and hopefully I’ll be able to excite the fans and get them off their seats. I can’t wait to show them what I’m all about.

“This is a new challenge for me, but it’s one I’m ready for. I’m just going to get my head down and work hard with the Under-21s in pre-season and hopefully my chance will come with the first team. Then, it’s up to me to take it.”
