THREE Rovers Ladies will soon be playing at Wembley after reaching the national finals of the second annual FA Umbro Fives.

Natalie Preston, Lynda Shepherd and Karen Burke were part of the all-conquering Liver Birds team who became the first women's side to book their place at England's national stadium after winning regional finals at the Trafford Park Soccerdome.

Having progressed through the local qualifying heats in Liverpool earlier in the year, the star-studded side scooped the £250 top prize and a trip to Wembley courtesy of a 2-0 win over last-season's semi-finalists Curzon Ashton.

Captain Natalie Preston said: "None of us have ever played at Wembley before, so we all absolutely can't wait.

"We're just gutted that it's in November and not sooner."

The Liver Birds team, who will compete against seven other regional winners for the overall title on Sunday, November 23, also includes Fara Williams, Danielle Hill and Amy Kane of Everton, as well as Leeds United's Alex Culvin.
