James Brown is back at Rovers after his loan spell at Stockport County was cut short.
The right back played at 22 times in the first half of the season for the League Two side and was scheduled to spend the full season at Edgeley Park.
However, Brown is back with Rovers, with the expectation that another loan move will be sought in this month’s window.
A Stockport County statement read: “The club can confirm that defender James Brown has been recalled from his loan spell, returning to parent club Blackburn Rovers.
“We'd like to thank Browny for all his efforts during his time with us in the first half of the season, and wish him the best of luck in the future.”
Brown signed for Rovers last January from Irish side Drogheda United on a short-term deal.
He later signed an extended deal with Rovers before making his debut on the final day of last season against Birmingham City.
Brown featured in pre-season for Rovers but after the arrival of Callum Brittain he was free to leave on loan.
