Burnley’s busy Championship fixture list continues with a home fixture against Reading on Saturday afternoon.

Vincent Kompany’s men are unbeaten in their last 15 games in all competitions following Tuesday night’s 1-0 win against Norwich.

The Clarets currently sit at the top of the Championship table, having lost just one game since the start of the campaign.

Team news

Burnley will make a late call on Republic of Ireland international Josh Cullen, who missed Tuesday night’s win against Norwich.

Midfield partner Jack Cork misses out through suspension, having picked up a fifth yellow card of the season against Norwich.

Summer signing Scott Twine hasn’t featured since the opening day, but Kompany says he is making “good progress”.

Ashley Westwood and Darko Churlinov are also progressing, and the Burnley boss hopes he can have a full squad before the World Cup break.

Reading captain Andy Yiadom is back in contention after serving a one-match ban, while defender Sam Hutchinson will be assessed.

Opposition lowdown

Ex-Manchester United and Liverpool midfielder Paul Ince took charge at Reading over the summer following a spell as interim boss.

Ince’s side are currently eighth in the table – just one point off the play-off places following a promising start to the campaign.

The Royals recorded a 2-0 victory against Bristol City in their last outing after goals from Mamadou Loum and Andy Carroll.

Head-to-head

Burnley have faced Reading 43 times in their history, with a record of 11 wins, 12 draws and 20 defeats.

The points were shared when the sides last met in February 2016 following a goalless draw at the Madejski Stadium.

The Clarets’ last win in the fixture came in October 2013, with Danny Ings and Sam Vokes on target either side of half time in a 2-1 victory at Turf Moor.
