Rovers have agreed a new contract with Jack Vale through to at least 2025.
The club have also included a 12-month option in the three-and-a-half-year deal signed by the striker whose previous deal was set to expire in the summer.
Vale made his seventh Championship appearance of the season, having also started the two Carabao Cup matches to date, in the weekend win over Birmingham City.
The 21-year-old has featured in 10 of the 17 matchday squads to date, making two starts, including on the opening day of the season against Swansea City.
Vale has long been tipped to make a first-team impact at Rovers and made his senior debut in July 2020.
The 21-year-old has had to be patient for his opportunities since, having overcome a number of injuries, while he struggled for an impact while on loan at FC Halifax last season.
However, he finished the campaign in fine form for Rovers Under-23s side, and also enjoyed an excellent pre-season infront of goal that earned him a starting spot on the opening day.
He has continued to be around the first-team squad and has now been handed a new contract.
Rovers’ Director of Football Gregg Broughton said: “Jack has worked really hard from the first day of pre-season and has demonstrated his quality to lead the line and be an effective striker in our system.
“This new contract demonstrates our belief in his continued development with Blackburn Rovers and his belief that this is the right environment for him to fulfil his potential.”
Vale joined Rovers from Welsh outfit TNS at the age of 14 and has spent loan spells with Barrow, Rochdale and FC Halifax.
He has also represented Wales up to Under-21s level, and scored a hat-trick in a win over Bulgaria last year.
On signing his new deal, Vale said: “It feels great to sign and I just need to get my head down now and continue to work hard.
“I’ve been here for a while now, so I think the club have shown how much loyalty they’ve put in me and I’ll give loyalty back, so I’m glad they’ve trusted me and given me a new deal.
“I was in the last year of my contract, so I obviously wanted to stay here, carry on playing here and do what I can to help the club.
“I love it here. I’ve met some great staff over the years, who have helped me loads, so I’m grateful for everything they’ve done for me to get me to where I am now. I’ve loved every minute here, so I’m just glad to carry on the journey.”
