Rovers made it three wins on the spin after a 2-1 victory against Birmingham City, but which players caught the eye?

Thomas Kaminski 10

A faultless display from the Rovers goalkeeper, who made five excellent saves to help his side secure the three points. The pick of the bunch was a heroic stop low to his right from a Lukas Jutkiewicz header in the final stages.

Hayden Carter 7

One of several young players involved for Rovers, who showed maturity beyond their years to protect their lead and hold off wave after wave of Birmingham pressure after Hogan pulled one back.

Dom Hyam 7

Looked solid at the heart of defence and won his fair share of headers as Rovers faced a barrage of crosses during the final stages.

Scott Wharton 7

His brother will get the spotlight but Wharton delivered an assured performance. He made several important challenges and clearances against a dangerous Birmingham attack.

Ryan Hedges 7

Had a few bright moments and was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet early in the second half after a smart stop by Ruddy. It was a shame to see him forced off with an injury, although the severity is not yet known.

Tyler Morton 8

Arguably Rovers’ best outfield player on the day, Morton looked lively throughout and produced several moments of quality. He set up the opener with a pinpoint cross from the right after a well-worked move.

Lewis Travis 7.5

The skipper played an important role in the middle of the pitch on his return to the side after missing the win against Sunderland through suspension. Worked hard up against a Birmingham midfield with lots of quality.

Harry Pickering 7

Made the most of his opportunities to get forward and join the attack, playing several passes into the final third.

Adam Wharton 8

A day the youngster will never forget! Wharton took his goal superbly, finding the bottom corner with a clinical strike. Tomasson’s faith in young players continues to pay off, and Rovers fans will hope it is the first of many goals to come.

Sam Gallagher 8

Made sure to get himself in the right position for the opening goal and caused the Birmingham defence plenty of problems when drifting onto the right. Gallagher has now scored twice in his last three matches and seems to be full of confidence.

Ben Brereton 7

Played a part in the opening goal and also did well to create a chance for Gallagher during the second half. The pair seem to enjoy playing alongside each other and their understanding is growing with each game.
