HASLINGDEN captain Graham Knowles admits it's a risk having the young and relatively inexperienced Joey Marcroft as wicketkeeper.
But he is confident the 17-year-old can learn his trade from professional David Bandy, who started his career behind the stumps.
Knowles said: "The position has been thrust upon him, he could have done with another one or two seasons in the seconds.
"But he's going to work with David and they've already done quite a bit of work together in the nets.
"He's going to really encourage him."
