GRAHAM Alexander scored his first goal for Burnley to put the Clarets in the driving seat against FA Cup finalists Cardiff City.
Alexander's left-foot volley rounded off an impressive build-up that he had been instrumental in, after Steven Caldwell cleared from the back.
Burnley moved the ball upfield and Alexander was well-placed to meet Andrew Cole's clever flick to beat Peter Enckelman from just over six yards out.
