STEVEN Caldwell's second goal of the season was enough to earn Burnley a ninth away win.

The Clarets captain took advantage of a static defence in first-half stoppage time to head in Robbie Blake's perfectly placed corner.

It was only seconds beforehand that Richard Wright had made his first save, as he tipped over Chris McCann's header.

And it was from the resultant set piece that Burnley grabbed the lead.

Jensen, too, had only just been called into action, as he did well to parry Andrew Surman's shot from distance.

But he was kept much busier in the second half by a Southampton side desperate to avoid relegation.

However, the Danish stopper was on top form to Inigo Idiakez and Youssef Safri, who both produced excellent shots from distance in the final 15 minutes.

In between those chances, Clarke Carlisle had a header bundled off the line from another Blake corner.
