Burnley are back at Turf Moor as they take on Nigel Pearson’s Bristol City in Championship action (KO 3pm).

Vincent Kompany’s men enter the game on the back of a 1-1 draw against North West neighbours Preston North End on Tuesday night.

Team news

Charlie Taylor is set to miss out after the former Leeds United man was forced off with an injury against Preston.

Summer signing Jordan Beyer could make his first start in Taylor’s absence, having come off the bench at Deepdale.

North Macedonian international Darko Churlinov is facing a spell out of action, while Ashley Westwood is a long-term absentee.

As for the visitors, Timm Klose could return to the squad but Tomas Kalas and Ayman Benarous remain sidelined.

Opposition lowdown

Pearson’s side have made a decent start to the new campaign and currently sit seventh in the Championship table – only behind Burnley on goal difference.

The Robins suffered a 3-2 defeat at Norwich City in their last outing despite goals from Tommy Conway and Antione Semenyo.

Former Claret Nahki Wells now plays at Ashton Gate and has scored four goals in eight league appearances so far this term.

Head-to-head

Burnley have faced City 49 times in their history, with a record of 18 wins, 15 draws and 16 defeats.

The Clarets ran out 2-0 winners when the sides last met at Turf Moor in the FA Cup back in January 2017 thanks to Sam Vokes and a superb effort by Steven Defour.

The Turf Moor club are unbeaten in their last six matches against the Robins – a run stretching back to November 2011.
