LANCASHIRE Wolverines American Football team will again play its home games at Blackburn RUFC.
There have been a number of changes in the closed season at for the Lancashire youth team which caters for players aged 16-18, and is part of the Lancashire Academy of American Football.
The team has benefited from numerous graduates from the Academy's excellent junior set-ups, the Chorley Buccaneers, the Bolton Braves and the Standish Raiders.
The coaching staff has also been bolstered with the addition of Geoff Leigh as Offensive Co-ordinator and Simon Purcell as Assistant Defensive Co-ordinator.
Leigh is a previous head coach of the Colts taking them to the National Final in 2003.
He also served as running backs coach for the Wolverines adult team for the past three years, along with being involved with Team England.
Head Coach Ian Kay has welcomed the additions to his coaching set-up.
He said: "At the end of last year it was clear that we had achieved a lot in going from having one player at training in November 2006 to competing in the 2007 Season.
"However it was clear that to take us back to where we were five years ago, changes needed to be made.
"With the continued support of the Lancashire Wolverine Senior side, changes have been made and hopefully we will see the fruit of those changes sooner rather than later."
The Lancashire Wolverines are still recruiting players for the 2008 season and would advise potential players to contact Colts management by email on lancashirewolverinecolts-yc@bafl.org.uk
