Blackburn Rovers must look to take a point at the very least from Anfield if they are to maintain a realistic push for Europe.
At this stage, qualification through the Intertoto Cup route looks to be Blackburn's only hope, with Portsmouth, Aston Villa and Manchester City also in the hunt.
Mark Hughes said: "We still harbour hopes for Europe, and we are still in the mix for the UEFA Cup until it's mathematically impossible.
"We will keep going. But if we are honest with ourselves, the most realistic opportunity is going to be the Intertoto Cup."
