BURNLEY boss Owen Coyle has revealed how his side had suffered from the absence of suspended central defender Clarke Carlisle.
Carlisle has been forced to miss three games since his late red card at Preston North End.
"Clarke Carlisle's been a big loss to us, and with injuries and suspensions at various points since we've come in," he said.
"There's no doubt we need to brush up on our defensive qualities, and that's not just the lads at the back, that's obviously in the middle and the forwards because anything we do we'll do as a team.
"But it's an area that we certainly get better."
