We asked our Rovers’ fans jury to sum up their thoughts on the opening weeks of the season and the summer transfer window.

Just how many false dawns are we Rovers' fans going to experience? I've been led up the garden path so often I now know every painful step of the way.

After little activity in the transfer market when other clubs seemed to be successful we finally had half a dozen new faces to replace the summer migration.

Whether the new recruits are any better than the existing squad players remains to be seen but as yet nothing particularly sparks the imagination.

The likes of Joe Rothwell have not been replaced whilst Bradley Dack's second coming looks debatable. Just how long does he actually need to get match fit?

Little has changed on the field with the appointment of a new manager who has his excuses ready and waiting after each defeat.

He has the same problems as his predecessor with a team lethargic, inconsistent and lacking any kind of killer instinct or urgency.

A settled, injury free squad would help but that is just another pipedream as is my comatose prediction of a top-six finish.

Looking at the league table and looking at the performances there is a definite disparity. Our league position certainly flatters us.

With the games we've lost, we've looked defeated from the first whistle and allowed the opposition to dictate play. In many of the games we've won, we've looked unconvincing and won with speculative goals rather than peppering the goals with chances and dominating possession.

There's been a lot of talk about a new style of play but I've seen no evidence of anything developing.

Initially, there was a high press and interchanging forwards, but this seems to have vanished and our approach to games looks merely hopeful and lacks direction or system.

In fact, the only consistent change has been a passing game across our defence which is dicing with death.

The signings seem logical and along with the emergence of our youth players, will certainly add to the squad providing both depth and choice.

We're lacking experience but I can't help but feel the inclusion of a disgruntled Bradley Johnson or Stewart Downing as in previous seasons was more taking wages from someone who might add impact rather than adding valuable experience.

We can't keep hiding behind squad depth and a new regime, we need to develop a clear style of play now that the players can relate to before we start looking over our shoulders and adding unnecessary pressure that a young squad don't need.

The first set of league games have been hit and miss.

We were off to a flier with three straight wins but now we are on one win in the last five with a trip to Wigan where we last won on 1 January 2007!

Watford at home follows whom we don't have a good recent record against followed by Luton away where we have never won a league game at.

I view the club’s business as being brave in the transfer market.

It was obvious we needed recruitment due to the close season outgoings and he has achieved it whilst keeping hold of our number one asset Ben Brereton Diaz.

I use the term brave as we are on the cusp of the FFP rules and if we had cashed in on Brereton Diaz we would be well within the parameters.

Tomasson is a young coach who is not afraid to experiment whilst the old management team tended to play safe with what they knew.

All in all, it's still early days on "the project" and he's not doing too bad.
