Burnley have announced the signing of Brentford striker Halil Dervişoğlu on a season-long loan.

The 22-year-old came through the ranks at Sparta Rotterdam, making 60 senior appearances before joining the Bees in 2019.

The forward has also had loan spells at Dutch side FC Twente and Turkish outfit Galatasaray over the past couple of seasons.

Dervişoğlu has experience on the international stage, having scored six goals in 13 caps for Turkey.

He made his debut for the national team in the summer of 2021 and was called up for the European Championships last summer.

“I’m very happy to be here and excited. It’s a big club and I have had a very warm welcome from everybody,” said for forward.

“I spoke with the manager, and he told me about the project here, I can’t wait to be a part of.”

Dervişoğlu becomes the Clarets’ 15th signing of the summer as the club aims to bounce back from relegation from the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany added: “We would like to thank Brentford for allowing us take Halil on loan for the season.

“He’s a naturally gifted Turkish international, who has an instinct to score goals and will give his all to help the team this season.”

Burnley are back in action on Friday night when they head to the Hawthorns to take on West Brom in front of the TV cameras.

Kompany’s men are currently third in the Championship table following back-to-back wins against Wigan Athletic and Millwall.
