Rovers and Burnley have learned their opponents for the second round of the Carabao Cup.

Rovers will head to the University of Bradford Stadium to take Bradford City, who are managed by former boss Mark Hughes.

Jon Dahl Tomasson’s men recorded a 4-0 win against Hartlepool United at Ewood Park tonight to book their place in the second round.

Dilan Markanday scored his first goal for the club since joining from Tottenham Hotspur during the January window.

Scott Wharton, Bradley Dack and Tyrhys Dolan also managed to get on the scoresheet during an emphatic display against the Monkey Hangers.

Meanwhile, Burnley head to Montgomery Waters Meadow to face Steve Cotterill’s Shrewsbury Town.

The Clarets were not involved in the opening round, having been relegated from the Premier League last season.

All second-round fixtures are scheduled to take place during the week commencing Monday, August 22.
