Rovers have published their squad numbers for the 2022/23 season.
Following his arrival from Barnsley, new signing Callum Brittain will wear the No.2 shirt vacated by Ryan Nyambe.
The main changes see Daniel Ayala switch from the No.5 shirt worn during his first two seasons at Ewood Park to the No.4 shirt he had during his time with Middlesbrough. That became available after Bradley Johnson’s departure.
Tayo Edun will wear the No.7 shirt in his second year at the club, with Reda Khadra having seen his loan spell come to an end.
With Ayala having moved numbers, the No.5 shirt is available, as are 6 and 8 after the departures of Jacob Davenport and Joe Rothwell.
There is a change of numbers for Hayden Carter, who comes down from 24 to 17, which was last season worn by Harry Chapman.
Jack Vale has come into Rovers’ first-team plans and that is reflected with his change of number, taking 29 having previously worn 37.
After impressing in pre-season, Sam Barnes is handed a squad number for the first time, given No.32.
Fellow defender Ash Phillips has also been given a squad number, with the 17-year-old set to wear 33.
Adam Wharton and Jake Garrett featured heavily in pre-season and will wear numbers 36 and 30 respectively.
However, there is no squad number for Dan Butterworth, who wore 14 last season.
James Brown, who is expected to move out on loan this week, is also left off the squad list.
Jared Harlock (37) and Harry Leonard (38) also featured in pre-season and have now been given squad numbers for the first time.
