Sam Burns took his pre-season tally to five in two games as Rovers Under-23s beat Workington AFC.
Fresh from a hat-trick in the midweek win at Darwen FC, Burns scored twice as Rovers came from behind to beat the Northern Premier League Division One North West side.
Junior Nsangou stole the show with a spectacular goal late on, as Rovers’ Academy side made it back-to-back victories to start pre-season.
The side was again taken by new assistant boss Mark Burton, with Mike Sheron away with the first-team.
With Sam Barnes, Ash Phillips, Adam Wharton, Jake Garrett, Jake Vale and Harry Leonard also away in Portugal, it was a reduced squad at Borough Park.
Louie Annesley was back in the side after his international commitments with Gibraltar over the summer, while there were valuable minutes for Lenni Cirino who missed the second half of the season through injury.
Scholar Nsangou got the opportunity in a forward line alongside Burns, Alex Baker and Harrison Wood.
Charlie Weston, fresh from signing his professional deal, partnered Jared Harlock in midfield.
Joe Hilton got the nod in goal, with Felix Goddard having secured a move to Bamber Bridge on loan, while Jalil Saadi and Dan Pike completed the backline.
Rovers fell behind on the half hour, a Workington trialist winning possession to play in Ben Hughes who fired a shot across Hilton and into the corner.
A quickfire double from Rovers on the stroke of half time turned the game on its head, however.
Burns got across his marker to turn home a right-wing cross in the 42nd minute, and by half time they were ahead, the striker firing home from a one-on-one opportunity for his second of the game.
Teenager Nsangou, who like fellow scholars George Chmiel and Dominik Biniek has been called up into the Poland youth set-up, then scored a fine goal six minutes from time to put the result beyond doubt.
His shot from just inside the Workington half caught Jim Atkinson off his line, as the ball sailed into the net.
Rovers Under-23s are next in action when they travel to Lancaster City on Friday.
