Burnley are reportedly keeping tabs on former Arsenal youngster Brandon Ormonde-Ottewill.

The Clarets can now focus on bolstering their squad before the new season gets underway after appointing Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany as their new boss.

However, there is plenty of work ahead after the club confirmed that Ben Mee, James Tarkowski, Erik Pieters, Aaron Lennon, Dale Stephens and Phil Bardsley would all be leaving Turf Moor at the end of their contract.

Ormonde-Ottewill is available on a free transfer and is attracting interest from Burnely, according to LancsLive.

The left-back made 26 appearances for Excelsior Rotterdam last season as the Dutch side won promotion to the top-flight.

He has been offered fresh terms but is said to be keen to return to England, having come through the ranks at Arsenal

Ormonde-Ottewill failed to make a first-team appearance for the Gunners and went on to have a spell at Swindon after his release in 2015.

The 26-year-old has also represented England at youth level, and Reading are reportedly one of several Championship clubs interested in his services ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Charlie Taylor is currently the Clarets’ only left-back option following Pieters’ departure after three years in the North West.

Burnley have also been linked with Blackpool right-back Jordan Gabriel amid speculation Welsh international Connor Roberts could return to the Premier League.
