BURNLEY goalkeeper Nick Pope is a target for newly promoted Nottingham Forest, according to reports.

Pope is one of several players linked with a move away from Turf Moor this summer following the Clarets’ relegation from the Premier League.

The 30-year-old is valued at £40million but Forest are ready to “try their luck” with a low bid, according to The Sun.

Pope joined Burnley from Charlton in the summer 0f 2016 and has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the club.

The goalkeeper has earned eight England caps, most recently featuring in a 3-0 friendly win against Ivory Coast in March.

He has also been linked with Fulham and Southampton in recent weeks ahead of the upcoming transfer window.

Meanwhile, Wout Weghorst has claimed he will not play for Burnley in the Championship next season.

The Dutch international arrived at Turf Moor during the January window and scored two goals in 20 appearances.

"We have clearly agreed in advance that I will not play in the Championship,” he told Voetbal International.

“The club would like to keep me and will do everything they can to return to the Premier League as soon as possible.

"For next season, it is important that I can perform at a high level also with a view to the World Cup in Qatar.

“You shouldn't believe everything the media says. There is interest from Germany, England and Turkey.

“First, I will focus on Orange here and perform as well as possible. Then we'll talk to Burnley about what's next."
