NICK Pope has been linked with a move away from Turf Moor this summer and Southampton have now been made favourites to sign the Burnley goalkeeper.

The Saints are currently priced at 2/1 to land the 30-year-old, according to SkyBet’s latest odds.

Newcastle also rank highly at 4/1, while West Ham, Fulham, Tottenham and Bournemouth are also in the mix.

Pope joined Burnley from Charlton in the summer 0f 2016 and has gone on to make over 150 appearances for the club.

The goalkeeper's performances were one of few positives last season as the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League following a 2-1 defeat against Newcastle on the final day.

Pope has also earned eight England caps, most recently featuring in a 3-0 friendly win against Ivory Coast in March.

A move to St Mary’s would make sense on paper, with Fraser Forster expected to complete a move to Spurs in the coming weeks.

Willy Caballero could also leave the Saints this summer, which would leave Alex McCarthy as Ralph Hasenhuttl's only option between the sticks.

Pope is one of several players linked with a move away from Turf Moor this summer as Burnley prepare for life back in the Championship.

James Tarkowski is set to leave the club at the end of his deal, while Maxwel Cornet reportedly has a £17.5million release clause following relegation.

Captain Ben Mee, who missed the final months of the season due to injury, is also out of contract this summer.
